The Event Manager position at The Ritz-Carlton plays a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and executing meetings and special events, ensuring seamless transitions between sales and operations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from accredited university
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing or related professional area
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to handle guest complaints effectively
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and staff training

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 3 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing or related area
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major with 2 years experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and financial performance
  • Experience in customer service and staff training
  • Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures
  • Proficiency in event planning software and tools

Job Duties

  • Research and analyze new products, pricing and services of competition
  • Apprise property of all groups that will impact property operations
  • Execute event management strategy aligned with company business strategy
  • Conduct daily walk-through of banquet floor to ensure client satisfaction and quality standards
  • Develop vendor relationships and establish prices and service agreements
  • Create opportunities to upsell during event planning
  • Manage controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals
