The Oncology Medical Science Liaison (MSL) at BioNTech plays a pivotal role as a scientific bridge between the company and the external medical community. This position is responsible for establishing and nurturing collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, academic centers, integrated care systems, and other relevant institutions to share evidence-based medical and scientific information focusing on BioNTech's oncology and solid tumor R&D portfolio. The Oncology MSL will develop and execute a strategic territory plan that includes mapping key accounts and planning impactful engagements aligned with the company’s medical objectives. Acting as a member of the US field-based scientific team, the MSL will deliver medical education, facilitate the exchange of updated scientific information, and gain important insights from healthcare providers across the region. Responsibilities include identifying and supporting clinical trial opportunities aligned with BioNTech's oncology strategy, documenting and communicating actionable insights to internal stakeholders, attending and contributing to oncology conferences, advisory boards, and medical education programs. The role demands timely and accurate documentation of interactions and strict adherence to compliance and safety reporting standards.

This position requires extensive scientific expertise and excellent interpersonal skills to foster meaningful scientific collaborations and dialogue. It offers a competitive salary range from $146,300 to $234,100 annually, plus benefits, annual bonus, and equity. The bonus and equity components are variable and contingent upon company and individual performance. Job Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree such as PharmD MDDO or PhD preferred
  • 3-5 years of oncology MSL or comparable industry or clinical role with customer-facing experience
  • Working therapeutic knowledge of lung cancer andor GI malignancies
  • Established healthcare professional or external expert network
  • Excellent communication and networking capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt priorities
  • Knowledge of clinical trials protocols and drug development lifecycle
  • Commitment to ethical standards including GCP and PhRMA Code
  • Proficiency in remote collaboration tools
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently within territory 50-70 percent
  • Valid driver's license

Job Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree such as PharmD MDDO or PhD preferred

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt priorities according to business and strategic needs
  • Good understanding of clinical trials protocols and drug development lifecycle management
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards with knowledge of relevant clinical regulations GCP guidelines and PhRMA Code
  • Proficiency with remote collaboration tools such as MS Teams SharePoint OneDrive and other Office 365 applications
  • Valid driver's license

Job Duties

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for the territory including mapping key accounts and planning impactful medical engagements aligned with medical objectives
  • Cultivate partnerships with academic centers centers of excellence and integrated care systems to drive regional impact
  • Act as member of BioNTech's US field-based scientific medical expert team delivering medical education updates and gaining insights from US healthcare professionals
  • Development of partnerships with investigators thought leaders and healthcare professionals through scientific evidence-based communication and education
  • Support and identify US clinical trial sites and opportunities aligned with the overall oncology strategy
  • Documentation and communication of actionable insights collected in the field to relevant internal stakeholders
  • Provide input support andor attendance at prioritized oncology conferences medical educational programs advisory boards and trainings
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of interactions and compliance and safety reporting aligned with local policies
