Senior Manufacturing Test Technician - 1st Shift

This role is specifically within the Chemical Analysis Division at Thermo Fisher Scientific’s facility in Madison, Wisconsin. This is a full-time, onsite position offering a competitive pay rate of $26.00 to $27.00 per hour. The schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, with a flexible start time between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM and 8-hour shifts. Overtime may be required as needed.

The Senior Test Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the alignment and testing of complex scientific instruments. This position directly contributes to achieving production goals by performing precise assembly alignment and testing procedures, while ensuring the highest quality standards are met. The technician will follow detailed work instructions involving mechanical, electrical, and optical assemblies, material handling, and inventory verification. Collaboration and effective communication within the team are essential to encourage continuous improvement and problem-solving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The working environment involves standard safety protocols typical for production in chemical analysis, including required use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gowns, gloves, lab coats, and ear plugs. The role requires frequent lifting of items up to 40 pounds and some exertion of force to move objects within the manufacturing facility.

Qualified candidates will have at least a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Preferred candidates possess experience analyzing test results, mechanical assembly skills, proficiency with hand tools, soldering experience, and leadership abilities such as training peers.
