Job Description
LA28 is the independent, non-profit, and privately funded organizing committee responsible for planning and delivering the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As a key entity dedicated to a mission of excellence, LA28 strives to create a spectacular global event that wonderfully showcases the rich culture, diversity, and spirit of Los Angeles and the United States. The organization operates with a strong commitment to values such as optimism, integrity, excellence, inclusion, co-creation, and boldness. These core principles guide the teams involved in delivering an unforgettable experience for athletes, fans, partners, and the broader community. These Games mark the return of the Summer Olympic Games to the U.S. after 32 years, and they represent LA’s third time hosting the Olympics and its first time welcoming the Paralympics. This unique opportunity brings the chance to connect a historic legacy with innovation, pushing forward the Olympic and Paralympic Movements and writing a new chapter in Games history.
The Senior Manager of Victory Ceremonies joins LA28 as a pivotal role within the Sport team, leading the strategic planning, management, and delivery of all Victory Ceremonies throughout the Games. This is a leadership role reporting directly to the Head of Sport Presentation, involving extensive collaboration across various departments such as Sport Competition Management, Venues and Infrastructure, Brand and Identity, Protocol, Accreditation, Marketing, Commercial, Technology, and Finance. The role demands an individual who can manage complex projects and a diverse group of stakeholders while ensuring that all ceremonies are executed flawlessly, strictly adhering to the protocols of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
This position holds accountability for the entire lifecycle of the Victory Ceremonies—from pre-production planning, recruitment, training of ceremony teams, management of budgets and resources, creative direction on key elements such as medals and podiums, to on-site support and operational coordination. The Senior Manager is also tasked with leading the development and enforcement of policies and operational documentation that ensure consistent, high-quality ceremony delivery across multiple venues. Aside from operational oversight, the manager acts as the focal point for communication and issue resolution and manages relationships with IOC and IPC representatives.
In supporting LA28’s broader objectives, the Senior Manager provides essential sport-related information and collaborates in data management and reporting activities within the organization. The role requires innovative thinking, proactive problem-solving, and strong leadership abilities to foster a high-performing, collaborative, and inclusive team atmosphere. The position is based in Los Angeles with in-person attendance required and includes occasional travel to venues and industry events. The annual salary range for this role is $105,000 to $140,000, reflecting the importance and seniority of the role within the organization’s structure. LA28 values diversity and equity in its recruitment and encourages candidates from all backgrounds to apply while maintaining a transparent and fair hiring process.
