Job Description

Crunchyroll is a global leader in anime entertainment, founded by fans and dedicated to delivering the rich art and culture of anime to over 100 million passionate anime and manga fans across more than 200 countries and territories. The company offers a wide suite of experiences including streaming video, theatrical releases, games, merchandise, events, and more. Crunchyroll is not just a streaming service; it is a vibrant community that connects fans with the stories and characters they love, creating shared experiences that deepen engagement with the anime culture. Powered by a deep understanding of anime’s influence and appeal, Crunchyroll continues to expand its reach globally, fostering a diverse and inclusive fandom.

The role of Senior Events Marketing Manager at Crunchyroll is a pivotal position based in Los Angeles, designed as a six-month contract opportunity reporting directly to the UCANZ Regional Marketing Director. This role is integral to Crunchyroll's strategy in the US, Canada, and Australia, tasked with overseeing all regional events from conception through execution. The Senior Events Marketing Manager leads the full event lifecycle including strategy development, conceptual ideation, production coordination, agency and licensor management, contract negotiations with conventions, and panel production. The role requires a strategic and hands-on leader who will craft and execute a cohesive events strategy aligned with overall regional business objectives and the specific goals of Crunchyroll’s lines of business.

This position demands collaboration across multiple departments including Brand Marketing, PR, Creative Services, Partnerships, and more to ensure that each event delivers impactful, audience-first experiences that resonate with fans, licensors, and stakeholders alike. Budget stewardship is a major responsibility, with ownership of event finances from planning and approvals through to reporting and optimization. The role also involves close cooperation with Sony Pictures Entertainment Theatrical teams to integrate premiere events seamlessly, combining fan activations, red carpet logistics, and talent management for maximum brand impact.

Moreover, the Senior Events Marketing Manager will work in tandem with marketing and owned-and-operated teams to amplify campaigns with PR, social media, media coverage, and press activities. The role requires balancing creative vision with practical execution, ensuring smooth logistics for international licensors, executives, and talent, while delivering exceptional fan experiences.

The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years’ experience managing large-scale entertainment events or brand activations, strong skills in budget management, production, vendor relations, and cross-functional leadership. Fluency in English is required, with Spanish as a plus. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field, and be willing to travel as needed. This role offers a competitive pay range of $60 to $75 per hour, with a comprehensive total rewards package including performance bonuses, retirement savings, time-off programs, and health perks.

Crunchyroll values courage, curiosity, continuous improvement (Kaizen), and service, embodying these principles in all aspects of its culture and operations. The company is committed to diversity and inclusion, providing equal employment opportunities regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or other factors, and maintains a rigorous hiring process to protect candidate privacy and prevent scams.
