Job Description
Bloom Energy is a leading clean energy technology company focused on transforming the global energy landscape through innovative and sustainable solutions. Established over 20 years ago, the company has been pioneering solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) and solid oxide electrolyzer (SOEC) technologies that deliver clean, reliable, and affordable energy. With more than 30,000 fuel cell modules deployed worldwide, Bloom Energy serves a diverse range of critical industries including AI-driven data centers, hospitals, electric grids, manufacturing facilities, and utilities. The company is recognized as a trusted partner among Fortune 100 companies and innovative enterprises seeking to address the rising challenges of energy scarcity and demand in a rapidly digitizing world. Bloom Energy’s commitment to collaboration, bold thinking, and relentless innovation powers its vision of a sustainable future by providing unparalleled "time-to-power" capabilities and operational reliability.
The Senior Manufacturing Manager role at Bloom Energy, based in Fremont, CA, is a strategic leadership position essential to supporting the company's continued manufacturing excellence and product scalability. This role operates on the night shift and requires a fully on-site presence, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Manufacturing. The Senior Manufacturing Manager will lead a diverse team comprising supervisors, team leads, and team members to meet production schedules while continuously improving safety protocols, quality standards, and operational efficiency. A key aspect of this role includes spearheading hire, development, and training initiatives for manufacturing staff, supporting plant ramp-ups and ongoing operations.
This position demands a hands-on approach to driving lean manufacturing principles such as Pull Systems, Kanban, Standardized Work, 5S, Visual Management, and continuous problem-solving to enhance production workflows and employee development. The manager will be responsible for facilitating change management processes to ensure smooth transitions in all facets of production, optimizing the entire value stream from supply chain logistics to the delivery of Bloom Energy servers to customers. Additional responsibilities include developing dashboards for improved decision-making, supporting new product launches, and maintaining training and safety programs aligned with company standards. Candidates should be adept at managing multiple shifts and demonstrating the flexibility to work across various plant areas as required.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience, supported by a minimum of six years in leadership roles within high-volume, complex assembly or advanced manufacturing environments. Expertise in Lean Manufacturing tools and continuous improvement methodologies, proficiency in managing automation equipment and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and knowledge of warehouse and inventory management are critical qualifications. Hands-on experience with ERP systems, particularly Oracle Warehouse Management System (WMS), coupled with strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, are highly valued. A successful Senior Manufacturing Manager will also demonstrate creativity, a visionary mindset for process improvement, and a bias for action to drive results.
Bloom Energy is an equal opportunity employer committed to merit-based employment decisions and compliance with laws providing equal employment opportunities. The company values diversity and inclusion, offering reasonable accommodations for qualified applicants with disabilities. Total compensation for this role ranges from $141,900 to $204,100 and includes standard company benefits, with remuneration based on relevant skills and experience.
