The Senior Manager, Global Travel Operations role is a critical leadership position based in various U.S. locations including Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Grand Rapids, Hermitage, and Minneapolis. This position is designed for an experienced professional with deep knowledge of travel operations, procurement, and service delivery, responsible for managing Deloitte U.S. Travel Agency operations and supporting technology and agent teams. The role demands oversight of critical travel components such as air, hotel, and ground transportation discount programs, continuous process improvement initiatives, and the enhancement of online booking tools to optimize the travel experience for Deloitte employees.
As the Senior Manager, the incumbent will assess new opportunities to elevate travel operations through the adoption of innovative technologies and refined processes. Coordination with internal stakeholders and external suppliers is essential to ensure the seamless implementation and management of travel-related programs. Furthermore, this role involves managing Agency Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), delivering agent performance feedback, and addressing duty-of-care issues in partnership with the Security Team.
The position requires strong analytical skills to handle reporting, data accuracy, and reconciliation of travel expenses. Job Requirements
- Experience in large travel agency operations and global travel programs
- Strong negotiation and procurement skills
- Proficiency in GDS systems such as Amadeus or Sabre
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills
- Ability to manage customer service issues and escalations
- Experience working with cross-functional and senior management teams
- Ability to work independently and develop process improvements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Job Qualifications
- Industry knowledge of travel categories, procurement and strong negotiation skills
- Strong knowledge and use of GDS (Amadeus/Sabre) and online booking tools
- Analytical skills and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Customer services management, issue/escalation management and resolution
- Experience in or with large travel agency operations and large complex high touch global travel programs in the United States
- Works with cross-functional teams and leaders across many levels of management
- Demonstrated abilities in working independently in an unstructured environment and developing solutions
- Navigating through complex collaborative initiatives
- Understanding, documenting and improving business processes
- Interacting and influencing internal stakeholders of all levels of the organization
Job Duties
- Manage Deloitte U.S. Travel Agency operations, agent teams, technology tools, and service delivery
- Assess new opportunities for continuous improvement via new technologies or process enhancements
- Collaborate with key internal Deloitte U.S. Firms stakeholders and suppliers
- Coordinate implementation of air, hotel, ground, and other travel discount programs
- Improve online booking tool experience
- Provide agent feedback from monthly call monitoring sessions
- Manage Agency KPIs and SLAs to make adjustments accordingly
- Partner with Security Team on duty-of-care related issues and concerns
- Manage daily and ad-hoc reporting requests and ensure daily feeds are accurately uploaded
- Reconcile monthly travel agency invoice
- Manage direct reports
