This role is centered on leading a collaborative AI Platform team focused on building an agentic platform designed to orchestrate data, models, and workflows supporting complex healthcare operations with a payer-focused approach. The AI platform serves vital functions within Payment Integrity and Optum Real by ensuring the secure, scalable, and reusable delivery of AI services. This leadership position involves overseeing the design and deployment of intelligent agent-driven applications that review and analyze clinical and administrative healthcare data, automating decision workflows while maintaining reliability and continuous system improvements. By applying artificial intelligence to agentic workflows, deployment automation, and production environment observability, the role directly influences the scaling and speed of delivery, risk reduction, platform reuse, and repeated revenue generation.

The systems developed and maintained under this role are highly impactful, processing millions of clinical data points that benefit a vast number of patients. They will champion AI as a critical driver of business value, designing and deploying innovative AI-powered solutions that address complex clinical and administrative challenges. Additionally, the candidate will advance engineering and operational excellence, implement DevSecOps best practices, and embed ethical AI principles that ensure transparency, fairness, and accountability in the development lifecycle of AI solutions. Collaboration with product managers, customer integration teams, and senior stakeholders will be essential to align engineering vision with enterprise goals and accelerate platform reuse and revenue growth.

This opportunity not only offers a competitive salary range between $148,900 and $255,300 annually based on full-time employment but also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive programs, equity stock purchase options, and 401k contributions.
