Job Description

Equity Residential is a leading real estate investment trust focused on the acquisition, development, and management of high-quality apartment communities across the United States. With a commitment to fostering vibrant and thriving communities, Equity Residential emphasizes core values such as diversity, sustainability, and total wellbeing. As a company, Equity Residential cultivates a workplace culture centered on authenticity, collaboration, and mutual respect, where employees are encouraged to voice their ideas, take educated risks, and continuously strive for excellence. The company’s commitment extends beyond just property management; it encompasses a holistic approach to employee wellbeing that includes physical, social, financial, community, and career aspects. Equity Residential offers competitive salaries, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive environment that promotes employee growth and satisfaction.

The Senior Maintenance Technician role at Equity Residential is vital to maintaining the quality and livability of the company’s apartment communities. This position involves responding promptly to resident service requests, performing a broad range of hands-on maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, appliance repairs, and HVAC-related work. The technician also plays a key role in preparing apartments to be market-ready and conducting regular inspections to ensure the community’s grounds and facilities remain in optimal condition. Beyond technical duties, this role requires someone who can step into a leadership position by assuming managerial responsibilities in the absence of the Service Manager. This includes overseeing service requests and delegating tasks to maintenance staff. Candidates for this role must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a proactive approach to maintaining apartment community standards. The position offers an hourly wage ranging from $28.01 to $34.23, with overtime and performance incentives available. Equity Residential is also highly committed to ensuring its employees’ total wellbeing by providing benefits like medical, dental, and vision care, paid holidays and vacation, retirement savings plans, rent discounts, and leadership development opportunities.
