The center is a cornerstone institution in the community, providing a warm and supportive environment where seniors can enjoy nutritious meals, participate in educational workshops, and connect with peers. They prioritize quality, safety, and respect in all their services to ensure every patron experiences comfort and satisfaction.

The City of Issaquah Senior Center is currently seeking a skilled Cook for a part-time, non-regular position, with work hours available Wednesday through Friday each week. This role is crucial in ensuring the center provides well-prepared, delicious meals to senior patrons, supporting their health and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess proven culinary skills with an emphasis on following recipes and safety guidelines while efficiently managing multiple tasks in a dynamic kitchen environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a community-centered environment and has a passion for cooking nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs of older adults. The role involves setting up workstations, preparing ingredients, cooking using different equipment, monitoring food quality, and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen. The Cook will also occasionally assist in inventory management and menu planning, contributing to meal variety and ensuring that supplies are well-stocked. Physical stamina is important as the position requires standing for long periods and working in an environment that might be hot or noisy at times.

Candidates who thrive in team settings and demonstrate strong communication skills will find this role rewarding. The Senior Center values its staff for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to service excellence. This position offers a meaningful chance to make a positive impact on the community by providing comfort through quality meals and friendly interaction with seniors. The part-time schedule provides a balanced work-life opportunity for those seeking flexible employment in a respected municipal facility.
