The Senior Living Sous Chef position at Truewood by Merrill, Fig Garden, is a vital role responsible for supporting the culinary operations that directly impact the well-being and satisfaction of the senior residents. Job Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years experience in quality food preparation
- Experience in scratch cooking in a high volume, fine dining setting
- Culinary training certification or degree in culinary preferred
- Proficiency in computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, etc
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and handle materials up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to supporting seniors with compassion and respect
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years experience in quality food preparation
- Experience in scratch cooking in a high volume, fine dining setting
- Proficiency in computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, etc
- Culinary training certification or degree in culinary preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
Job Duties
- Prepare food items following proper procedures specified by Executive Chef
- Maintain documentation of all temperature charts and records
- Oversee and direct all dining service team members during a shift in absence of the Executive Chef
- Accurately complete all food production records in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Perform scratch cooking in a high volume, fine dining setting
- Support the Executive Chef with kitchen operations and quality food preparation
- Perform other duties as assigned
