Job Description

White Lodging is a prominent hospitality company that develops and operates an impressive portfolio of award-winning, premium-brand hotels, rooftop bars, and restaurants located in some of the most vibrant cities across the United States. Known for its strong commitment to quality and excellence, White Lodging emphasizes the importance of the hospitality business — specifically, how it profoundly impacts how people feel. The company's philosophy centers on creating memorable experiences for guests while fostering a supportive environment where employees can thrive and grow professionally. With a dynamic culture that values employee development and encourages career advancement, White Lodging has built a reputation for being a welcoming and inclusive employer.

This specific opportunity is with Marriott Indianapolis, one of the flagship properties within White Lodging’s portfolio. The role is designed for individuals passionate about the food and beverage industry, offering advanced scheduling flexibility through a user-friendly mobile app that makes shift management effortless, helping employees maintain a healthy work-life balance. The company is committed to providing a supportive work environment that helps individuals excel in their culinary careers while delivering exceptional food and service quality to guests.

As a Cook Mentor, you will play a critical role in the daily operations of the food outlet by mentoring entry-level cooks and apprentices, ensuring that standards and procedures are followed meticulously. Your experience and leadership will be invaluable in maintaining food safety, controlling costs, and delivering consistent quality across all food preparation activities. You will oversee the preparation and production process, check the freshness and quality of ingredients, and ensure adherence to recipe and portion guidelines.

The role requires a versatile culinary skill set spanning sautéing, broiling, frying, roasting, butchery, garde manger, pantry work, and breakfast cookery, reflecting the diverse menu offerings of the establishment. While culinary education or apprenticeship is preferred, it is not mandatory for the right candidate, as practical knowledge and a passion for food preparation are highly valued. The position demands physical stamina, as the cook will need to stand and move at a fast pace for extended periods.

White Lodging also offers robust employee benefits from day one, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, paid parental leave, and access to a daily pay option. Employees can take advantage of wellness resources, leadership development initiatives, tuition reimbursement, vacation and paid time off with rollover capabilities, and employee assistance programs. Additionally, the company provides exclusive discounts on hotel rooms, dining, and travel or entertainment experiences, cultivating opportunities for personal as well as professional growth within multiple properties in each market.

Joining White Lodging means becoming part of a diverse and inclusive workforce that values each associate’s unique contributions and is committed to providing a supportive workplace that encourages ongoing learning and respect. This is an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals who are eager to advance their skills, mentor their peers, and contribute to a renowned hospitality brand dedicated to high standards and guest satisfaction.
