The Senior Kitchen Manager position at the Seattle Convention Center represents a vital role within Aramark's culinary team. The Senior Kitchen Manager supports the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chefs in achieving high standards of food production, presentation, and service, particularly focusing on catering and large-scale event operations. In this role, the Senior Kitchen Manager plays a crucial part in managing the kitchen team by onboarding, training, and mentoring both management and union staff on best culinary practices and production techniques. The position involves coordinating daily kitchen activities, including planning menus, managing food inventory, controlling waste, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation regulations. The Senior Kitchen Manager collaborates closely with leadership to meet labor and food cost goals, execute labor scheduling, and uphold company standards. Job Requirements

  • Frequent standing and walking for extended periods of time on solid surfaces
  • occasionally required to sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less
  • requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills
  • ability to follow written and oral instructions

Job Qualifications

  • Requires at least 3-5 years in a related position
  • requires at least 2-3 years of post-high school education, strong preference to a culinary degree
  • requires advanced culinary skills and knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
  • requires experiential knowledge of management of people and/or problems
  • requires strong verbal, reading and written communication skills
  • demonstrated food and labor cost management skills
  • able to learn and comfortably operate computer systems and applications related to the daily operation of the culinary department
  • proficiency with the Microsoft Office 365 suite

Job Duties

  • Onboard, train and lead kitchen personnel including management and Union staff on best practices and food production technique
  • assist with developing culinary teams skill at identifying operational needs in the moment and executing proper courses of action
  • assist with planning, organizing and leading team meetings and daily huddles
  • estimate food consumption then requisition or purchase food
  • collaborate with Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chefs to meet food, labor and safety goals
  • contribute to meeting Aramark’s performance metrics regarding inventory and waste management, sanitization and safety
  • select and develop recipes and standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
