Job Description
Our client located in Gresham, Oregon, is an established and reputable company seeking experienced Senior Instrumentation and Controls Technicians to join their dynamic team. This organization specializes in maintaining high standards in industrial facility operations and cleanroom environments. The company emphasizes employee development and safety, offering a supportive work culture where skilled professionals can thrive and contribute significantly to critical systems that sustain facility operation. With a clear commitment to safety, operational excellence, and efficiency, the company operates in a technical and hands-on industrial sector, focusing on the seamless functionality of instrumentation and control systems that ensure compliance with quality standards and environmental regulations.
This opportunity is a full-time, on-site, direct-hire role with both day and night shift options available, accommodating different scheduling preferences. The day shift runs Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday from 6:00 AM to 6:15 PM, while the night shift occurs Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Saturday from 6:00 PM to 6:15 AM. Salaries are competitive and based on experience, with day shift salaries ranging from $78,000 to $110,000 annually and night shift salaries ranging from $88,000 to $124,000 annually.
The position involves a broad range of responsibilities centered around maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing control systems, instrumentation, and facility equipment to meet cleanroom-quality parameters, operational goals, and environmental discharge permit requirements. The Senior Instrumentation and Controls Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and safety of all control systems and building equipment. This role demands expertise in preventative maintenance, calibration, repair, and programming of instrumentation and controls, as well as coordinated communication with team members, engineering, and management.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate hands-on knowledge with electronic, pneumatic, and computer automation control systems, and have strong capabilities in process control loop calibration and troubleshooting. Familiarity with specific control hardware such as GE Fanuc 90/30, Allen Bradley SLC500 and Series 5 programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and GE Cimplicity human-machine interface (HMI) software is considered a strong plus. The technician must also possess excellent team collaboration skills to effectively resolve controls-related issues and support continuous improvement of operational processes, enhancing system performance, consistency, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Additional responsibilities include active participation in the Fab 4 Emergency Response Team, adherence to strict safety protocols, and the physical capacity to perform tasks that may require lifting, climbing, bending, and working in diverse and sometimes challenging environments. Candidates must be able and willing to travel for training and maintain physical requirements such as passing respirator use medical clearances.
This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge automation technologies in a stimulating, safety-oriented production environment. The company values diversity and is an equal-opportunity employer, welcoming applicants regardless of race, color, gender, age, veteran status, or any other protected status. The role offers a chance to become a key technical player in an industrial setting where your expertise will directly impact operational success and environmental compliance.
