As a Top 250 Hospital in the Nation and one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care by Healthgrades, it proudly belongs to Dignity Health’s Southern California Division and is part of CommonSpirit Health, the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in the United States. This integrated network comprises top-quality hospitals staffed by physicians from prestigious medical schools, offering comprehensive outpatient services and a commitment to quality, safety, and exceptional service. Supported by a dedicated philanthropic Foundation, the medical center continuously aims to meet the evolving healthcare needs of its community.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and thorough Senior Housekeeper to join our team at St. John’s Regional Medical Center. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy environment for our patients, staff, and visitors. The position is crucial to the well-being of everyone in our healthcare facility, requiring a meticulous attention to detail and strict adherence to established cleaning and sanitation protocols. Your work will involve cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms, common areas, and other parts of the hospital, following rigorous disinfection procedures designed to minimize risks and prevent infection. You will also be tasked with properly collecting and disposing of waste, including biohazardous materials and linens, and replenishing necessary supplies to ensure that patient and staff areas remain fully stocked and operational.
The Senior Housekeeper will respond promptly to cleaning requests from healthcare professionals and operate various cleaning equipment, including heavy-duty machinery and specialized tools. As an experienced professional with at least five years in acute healthcare as an EVS Tech, you should be able to communicate effectively in English and work tactfully with team members, patients, and visitors. Confidentiality, teamwork, and participation in staff development and quality control programs are essential aspects of the role. This position requires flexibility to work across both hospital campuses and adheres to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement represented by SEIU UHW.
Joining St. John’s Regional Medical Center means becoming part of a respected health care community committed to delivering superior patient care while fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment. If you have a passion for maintaining healthcare environments that uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety, this Senior Housekeeper role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to life-saving efforts and patient comfort in one of the nation’s leading hospitals. We encourage motivated and compassionate candidates to apply and help us continue our mission of One Community. One Mission. One California.
