Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- high school diploma or equivalent required
- three years of hotel sales experience preferred
- ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
- high level attention to detail
- strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments
- ability to work independently and collaboratively to promote teamwork
- frequently standing or moving within and outside of the facility
- carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds
- excellent communication skills for interaction with guests, employees and third parties
- ability to utilize computer software and hardware
- reading and writing abilities for paperwork and management reports
- mathematical skills including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages and variances
- problem solving, reasoning, motivating and organizational abilities
- ability to travel to workshops, tradeshows, conventions
- valid driver’s license
- may be required to work nights, weekends and/or holidays
- ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods or entire work shifts

Job Duties
- Solicit new and existing accounts to meet or exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication
- develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel including food and beverage, guest services and reservations
- develop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and SOPs and ensure knowledge of and adherence to those policies by the sales team
- prepare and execute sales contracts and assist with creating group resumes to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction
- initiate and follow up on leads
- maintain and participate in an active sales solicitation program
- monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within your market
- meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals as assigned by the Director of Sales and Marketing
- invite clients to the hotel for entertainment, tours and site inspections
- assist in implementing special promotions relating to direct sales segments
- be familiar with all Sonesta sales policies
- conduct a professional thorough site inspect of the property
- operate within established sales expense budget
