Job Description
Kinder's is a dynamic and innovative company dedicated to creating unforgettable flavors with a strong commitment to people. As a privately held and founder-led brand, Kinder's has rapidly grown to become a top-five brand in multiple flavor categories with products sold nationwide at major retailers like Costco, Walmart, and Whole Foods. With a portfolio of over 100 products, Kinder's embraces an entrepreneurial spirit likened to a pirate ship navigating the sea of traditional consumer packaged goods companies. The company values adventurousness, fearlessness, and a passion for food that transforms everyday meals into memorable experiences. As Kinder's expands globally and approaches $1 billion in revenue, it is seeking passionate, smart, and scrappy talent to join its crew and contribute to the company’s mission of adding flavor to millions of meals and lives.
The Senior Food Technologist role at Kinder's is instrumental in driving innovation and product development in the company’s dry applications category. This position focuses on bench-top formulation, scale-up processes, and the commercialization of new products. The successful candidate will work on innovation, migration, and renovation projects, managing everything from exploratory product concepts to plant trials and final product documentation. Collaboration with marketing, product development, culinary teams, and vendors is key to optimizing formulations for flavor, cost, nutrition, and consumer feedback. Additionally, this role involves supporting new product launches through plant trials and early production runs, coordinating logistics for raw materials and samples, and conducting shelf-life stability testing. As a member of Kinder's, the Senior Food Technologist is expected to thrive in a fast-moving, agile environment with a strong growth mindset and a hunger for learning and teaching. This role requires someone who can work collaboratively with a low ego and a desire to innovate and lead, all while embracing the company’s culture of urgency, creativity, and inclusivity. The position is based onsite in Walnut Creek, CA, with travel requirements up to 30 percent. The anticipated salary range for this key role is between $115,000 and $125,000 annually, with compensation adjusted based on qualifications, education, and business needs.
