The position available is for a Senior Food Service Worker at the Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center located in Sun City West, Arizona. This facility is known for delivering exceptional medical care, serving the northwest Valley of metro Phoenix, and has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of Phoenix's Best Hospitals. The medical center has 391 licensed beds and offers extensive services including acute medical and surgical services, intensive care, emergency care, cardiac care, neurology, orthopedics, cancer treatment, women's health services, diagnostic services, and behavioral health.

As a Senior Food Service Worker on the Culinary & Nutrition-Hospital team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of food service within the hospital. This full-time role offers a varied shift schedule with hours from Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, along with desirous night shift and weekend shift differentials that provide extra compensation. A key highlight of this role is that it primarily focuses on barista duties, requiring past barista experience which is highly preferred. Your responsibilities will include preparing and cooking food, stocking, serving, cashiering, and offering excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain food handler certification
  • Two or more years of similar work experience in production cooking
  • Knowledge of food handling regulations
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to function independently and resolve complex issues
  • Ability to accurately manage cash transactions
  • Willingness to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience in production cooking
  • Knowledge of upscale food production methods
  • Understanding of cooking principles and recipe modification
  • Ability to manage menu substitutions
  • Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to accurately calculate and handle cash transactions quickly
  • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate good judgment
  • Food handler certification required within 30 days of hire
