Job Description

This position is a full-time Management role based at 1717 Denver West Blvd, Golden, Colorado. It offers an annual pay range of $76,000 to $97,000, with eligibility for bonuses. The role is focused on supervising and managing the daily operations of the Food and Beverage (F&B) department, ensuring strict compliance with F&B policies, standards, and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the shift operations, maintaining quality and service standards, and meeting customer expectations consistently. Additionally, the role involves managing the operating budget, verifying adherence to legal obligations, and fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment.

The Food and Beverage Manager will play a crucial role in coordinating supplies, supervising staff levels, conducting inspections, and supporting supervisors in managing their teams effectively. The role requires a hands-on leader who can step in to perform employee duties if necessary while continuously encouraging trust, cooperation, and mutual respect among team members. This position also focuses on delivering exceptional customer service by exceeding guest expectations through proactive problem-solving, coaching, and hands-on leadership. The manager will serve as a role model, demonstrating appropriate behaviors and ensuring brand-specific service culture is upheld.

In addition to operational management, the Food and Beverage Manager will be responsible for conducting human resource activities, including performance appraisals, coaching, mentoring, hiring, and ensuring fair treatment and retention of employees. This position requires strong communication skills, budget comprehension, and the ability to analyze information to make informed decisions that benefit both the team and the overall business. The role demands a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness, safety, and an inviting environment for both employees and guests.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • five years experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
  • or two-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • three years experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area

Job Duties

  • Supervises daily Food and Beverage shift operation and ensures compliance with all F&B policies, standards and procedures
  • assists in ordering F&B supplies, cleaning supplies and uniforms
  • supports and supervises an effective monthly self inspection program
  • operates all department equipment as necessary and reports malfunction
  • supervises staffing levels to verify that guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met
  • encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • understands employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence
  • develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work
  • monitors and maintains the productivity level of employees
  • verifies that all team members/supervisors understand the brand specific philosophy
  • maintains the operating budget and verifies that standards and legal obligations are followed
  • assists supervisors in understanding team members' needs and exceeding them
  • celebrates and fosters decisions that result in successes as well as failures
  • communicates areas that need attention to staff and follows up to ensure understanding
  • coordinates cleaning program in all F&B areas identifying trends and making recommendations for improvements

  • conducts hourly employee performance appraisals according to standard operating procedures
  • communicates performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position
  • verifies that employees are treated fairly and equitably and strives to improve employee retention
  • identifies developmental needs of others and provides coaching and mentoring
  • verifies that disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed as per SOPs and supports the Peer Review Process
  • interviews and hires management and hourly employees
  • manages beverage purchasing and control procedures and ensures staff training
  • observes service behaviors of employees and provides feedback
  • provides information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, in written form, email, or in person
  • analyzes information and evaluates results to solve problems
  • performs hourly job functions if necessary
  • extends professionalism and courtesy to team members at all times
  • comprehends budgets, operating statements and payroll progress reports
  • performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs
