Job Description
BerryDunn is a client-centered and people-first professional services firm that provides tax, advisory, consulting, and attest services to businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies throughout the United States and its territories. Founded in 1974, BerryDunn is comprised of two independently owned entities, Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker, LLC and BDMP Assurance, LLP, with the latter serving as a licensed CPA firm. The firm has consistently earned recognition for its commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion, providing learning and development opportunities, and promoting employee well-being. With a mission to empower meaningful growth for its people, clients, and communities, BerryDunn stands as a trusted partner to its clients, helping them address their most pressing challenges through expert, responsive service and innovative solutions. Under the leadership of CEO Sarah Belliveau, BerryDunn continues to cultivate a workplace culture that values collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement.
The Senior Events Specialist position at BerryDunn is an exciting opportunity for someone energized by organizing events and creating impactful experiences. This full-time, hybrid role involves partnering with a collaborative marketing team to plan, coordinate, and deliver a variety of events, including firm-hosted gatherings, conferences, sponsorships, and strategic marketing initiatives. The specialist will help build experiences that enhance the firm’s brand, support business development efforts, and provide value to clients and the communities BerryDunn serves. The position may be based in one of several locations, including Portland, ME; Bangor, ME; Manchester, NH; Waltham, MA; or Hamden, CT, with occasional travel expected for select events.
The Senior Events Specialist will be responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of event planning—from strategy and preparation through logistics and execution. This involves developing project briefs, timelines, budgets, and communication plans tailored to each event’s unique needs. Additionally, the specialist will manage relationships with sponsors and exhibitors, including contract negotiation, registrations, marketing deliverables, and attendee coordination. Sourcing and securing event-related goods and services like venues, catering, and audio-visual equipment will also be key responsibilities. Post-event, the specialist will measure outcomes, facilitate debrief sessions, and share insights to inform future event planning. The role demands strong organizational skills to maintain accurate data across project management, marketing, and CRM systems, which facilitates effective analysis and decision-making.
Onsite event coordination and support at firm-hosted and select third-party events will be a core part of the role. The senior specialist will also act as a liaison for industry association memberships, leveraging these partnerships to maximize event and marketing benefits. Collaborative partnership with colleagues across marketing, business development, and subject matter experts will ensure that event initiatives align with the firm’s strategic priorities. Flexibility is important as some success in this position will come from assisting with additional marketing projects as necessary.
Compensation for this role falls within the salary range of $72,000 to $80,000 annually, with eligibility for a discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance factors. BerryDunn offers a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive culture designed to promote the holistic well-being of its employees. The firm prioritizes reasonable accommodations for individuals during the application process and ensures equal employment opportunities regardless of diverse backgrounds and identities. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, collaborative, and resourceful professional with at least five years of event planning experience and a passion for delivering high-quality event experiences that drive brand and business growth.
