Job Requirements

- minimum 2 years experience in event management or related field
- or 2-year degree from accredited university in relevant major

Job Qualifications

- minimum 2 years experience in event management or related professional area

- ability to lead meetings and manage multiple priorities

- ability to work collaboratively with sales and property departments
- leadership skills to act on behalf of directors when needed
Job Duties
- prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales and property departments
- ensure consistent high-level service during pre-event, event and post-event phases
- handle complex events and ensure seamless turnover from sales to service and back
- recognize opportunities to maximize revenue by up-selling and offering event enhancements
- support and act on behalf of the director of event management or planning in their absence
- serve as the primary contact for event planners following turnover
- manage customer budgets and operational challenges
- lead pre- and post-event meetings
- manage group room blocks and meeting spaces
- participate in customer site inspections and assist with sales process
- manage revenue and profitability for events
- handle guest feedback and complaints
- maintain constant presence with customers throughout the event process
- review billing and payments with clients
- celebrate team successes and recognize contributions
- communicate event details effectively both verbally and in writing
