Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • minimum 2 years experience in event management or related field
  • or 2-year degree from accredited university in relevant major
  • excellent communication skills
  • strong organizational abilities
  • proficient in problem-solving
  • ability to manage budgets and customer relationships
  • leadership aptitude
  • availability to act in absence of directors
  • customer-oriented mindset

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED or 2-year degree in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
  • minimum 2 years experience in event management or related professional area
  • strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • ability to lead meetings and manage multiple priorities
  • experience managing budgets and event profitability
  • customer service orientation
  • proficiency in coordinating complex events
  • ability to work collaboratively with sales and property departments
  • leadership skills to act on behalf of directors when needed

Job Duties

  • prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales and property departments
  • ensure consistent high-level service during pre-event, event and post-event phases
  • handle complex events and ensure seamless turnover from sales to service and back
  • recognize opportunities to maximize revenue by up-selling and offering event enhancements
  • support and act on behalf of the director of event management or planning in their absence
  • serve as the primary contact for event planners following turnover
  • manage customer budgets and operational challenges
  • lead pre- and post-event meetings
  • manage group room blocks and meeting spaces
  • participate in customer site inspections and assist with sales process
  • manage revenue and profitability for events
  • handle guest feedback and complaints
  • maintain constant presence with customers throughout the event process
  • review billing and payments with clients
  • celebrate team successes and recognize contributions
  • communicate event details effectively both verbally and in writing
