Job Description

Marriott International is a global leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for its commitment to excellence, innovation, and delivering outstanding guest experiences. Among its distinguished portfolio of brands, JW Marriott stands out as a symbol of luxury and refined service, boasting over 100 exquisite properties in iconic gateway cities and exclusive resort destinations worldwide. The company’s philosophy centers on valuing its associates, recognizing that happy and engaged employees are fundamental to creating memorable and exceptional service for guests. JW Marriott fosters a work environment that emphasizes community, camaraderie, and personal growth, offering extensive training, development opportunities, and a culture of recognition. The brand’s unique approach to hospitality, known as The JW Treatment, prioritizes holistic well-being and supports associates in pursuing their passions in a luxury setting.

This position as an Event Management Coordinator at JW Marriott is integral to ensuring the seamless execution of property events, particularly complex and high-profile functions. The role demands meticulous preparation of all event documentation and effective coordination among sales teams, various property departments, and customers. This collaboration guarantees consistent, top-tier service throughout all stages of an event—the pre-event planning phase, the event day itself, and the post-event follow-up. The Event Management Coordinator acts as the main contact point for clients after the handover from sales, ensuring their experience is exceptional and smooth until responsibility is transferred back to sales. This position not only supports the Director of Event Management or Director of Event Planning and Operations but also steps in during their absence, demonstrating leadership and accountability.

Key responsibilities include managing customer budgets to maximize revenue while addressing client needs, facilitating pre- and post-event meetings to communicate and align on group requirements, and overseeing group room blocks and meeting space to optimize logistical arrangements. Additionally, the role involves identifying and resolving operational challenges in collaboration with property staff and customers, ensuring adherence to Marriott’s standards, policies, and procedures. The Event Management Coordinator is also charged with up-selling products and services during the event process, participating in site inspections, and fostering strong relationships between sales and clients.

Exceptional customer service is central to the role, requiring active interaction with guests to solicit feedback on service quality, promptly addressing any complaints, and maintaining a visible presence throughout the event lifecycle. This commitment to service excellence not only enhances guest satisfaction but also drives repeat business and positive reputation for the JW Marriott brand. The Event Management Coordinator contributes to the profitability of events by managing revenue streams and forecasting group reservations and event income, such as catering and audiovisual services.

Working at JW Marriott offers a unique opportunity to be part of a luxury brand that prioritizes associate well-being, professional growth, and a supportive, vibrant workplace culture. Employees benefit from diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity employment policies that embrace backgrounds and experiences from all walks of life. By joining JW Marriott, you become part of a global family dedicated to redefining hospitality and delivering the promise of "Wonderful Hospitality. Always." This role is ideal for professionals passionate about event management, hospitality excellence, and building meaningful customer relationships in a prestigious environment.
