Job Requirements

  • education equivalent to high school diploma or GED
  • two years experience in event management or related professional area
  • or two-year degree from an accredited university in relevant field
  • strong organizational skills
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • proficiency in managing budgets and forecasting

  • flexibility to support event operations as needed

Job Qualifications

  • two years experience in event management or related area
  • or two-year degree in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related field with no work experience required

Job Duties

  • prepare all event documentation
  • coordinate with sales, property departments, and customers to ensure consistent service
  • manage complex event operations
  • lead pre-event and post-event meetings
  • solve operational challenges and develop alternative solutions
  • manage customer budgets to maximize revenue
  • oversee customer experiences from turnover through post-event phase
  • conduct pre- and post-event meetings
  • manage group room blocks and meeting space
  • uphold company standards, policies, and procedures
  • celebrate team successes
  • up-sell products and services throughout the event process
  • participate in customer site inspections
  • act as liaison between sales and customers
  • manage revenue and profitability for events
  • forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue
  • review billing and payments with clients
  • interact with guests to obtain feedback
  • handle guest problems and complaints
  • maintain a visible presence throughout the event process
  • follow up with customers post-event
  • greet customers during event phase
  • coordinate and communicate event details internally and externally
