Known for its vibrant and innovative approach to luxury hospitality, the W Hotels brand is celebrated for uplifting the guest experience by igniting curiosity and expanding worlds through extraordinary service and design. The Foshay is an iconic landmark and a premier destination for business and leisure travelers alike, combining historic elegance with modern sophistication. As part of Marriott International's extensive network, this property boasts a dynamic culture that nurtures creativity, embraces diversity, and values the unique backgrounds and experiences of its associates.
This establishment seeks to fill the position of Event Manager, a full-time management role based on-site at the W Minneapolis - The Foshay. Offering an attractive annual salary range of $65,000 to $86,000 with eligibility for bonuses, this role places the successful candidate at the epicenter of event planning and execution within a luxury hotel environment. The Event Manager is integral to orchestrating seamless events from conception through completion, managing complex event operations, and ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction. This role requires close coordination with sales, property departments, and customers to deliver high-caliber service throughout the entire event lifecycle—pre-event, event day, and post-event.
The Event Manager will primarily handle complex events, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to service and back to sales, identifying opportunities to maximize revenue through up-selling and enhancements, and acting as the primary on-property contact for clients after the sales turnover. This position supports and stands in for the Director of Event Management or Director of Event Planning and Operations during their absence, underscoring its importance within the property's leadership team.
Key responsibilities involve preparing all event documentation, leading pre- and post-event meetings, managing customer budgets to optimize revenue, overseeing customer experiences to satisfaction, and ensuring adherence to all company standards, policies, and procedures. The Event Manager will also engage in executing sales and marketing strategies to boost event revenue actively. Exceptional customer service is paramount, requiring the manager to interact with guests to obtain feedback, resolve any issues, and ensure their experience aligns with the luxury standards expected of the W brand.
Aligned with Marriott International's commitment to equal employment opportunity, W Minneapolis - The Foshay fosters an inclusive environment that welcomes and values diversity. Associates are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work, contributing to a culture that celebrates a broad mix of talents and backgrounds. As a brand known for reinventing luxury norms and inspiring new possibilities, W Hotels invites passionate, original, and forward-thinking professionals to join this vibrant team. Working at the W Minneapolis - The Foshay offers more than just a job—it provides a platform to belong to a global network of hospitality experts, empower personal growth, and participate in the exhilarating world of luxury event management and guest experience.
