The Senior Event Specialist role at Qualcomm Technologies is instrumental in planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of small to mid-tier events that bolster organizational goals and elevate the overall brand experience. This role involves meticulous management of diverse corporate events ranging from hospitality functions and corporate gatherings to industry tradeshows and marketing events. The position requires a blend of strategic planning capabilities and hands-on execution skills to ensure seamless delivery from event conception through budgeting, vendor negotiations, logistics coordination, and post-event evaluations. The Senior Event Specialist will collaborate extensively with cross-functional internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors. They will support larger scale events by managing event platforms, shipping logistics, merchandising, accommodation blocks, and more. They are responsible for sourcing and negotiating with vendors to establish beneficial relationships, overseeing smaller-scale event logistics including entertainment, catering, audiovisual setups, promotional materials, signage, and transportation. This role demands travel readiness, including potential weekend and holiday timelines to oversee live event execution and adapt swiftly to on-the-ground logistics. Budget management and invoicing oversight are also key responsibilities, ensuring financial activities align with company policies and budget constraints.
This position is a full-time onsite role based in San Diego, requiring presence five days a week, and is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship. Job Requirements
- 3-5 years of corporate event planning experience
- Experience leading different types of events including hospitality, corporate functions and tradeshows
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong track record of meeting or exceeding stakeholder expectations through thoughtful planning and execution
- Demonstrate ability to deliver organized, strategic solutions under time-sensitive conditions
- General technical awareness including familiarity with Qualcomm products, electronics, and audiovisual equipment
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail and a collaborative mindset
- Must be onsite in San Diego, 5 days a week

Job Duties
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to plan and execute events that align with program objectives, brand vision, and budget requirements
- Provide support to management on larger scale events
- manage event platforms such as c-event, shipping logistics, merchandising, room blocks, etc
- Research, source, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships
- Responsible for full scope of smaller scale events including housing, entertainment, food and beverage, audiovisual, promotional items, signage, and transportation
- Travel as needed including weekends and holidays to oversee or support on-site event execution, proactively adapting to changing conditions and stepping into operational roles when required
- Manage event logistics, project timelines, and internal process adherence while ensuring effective cross-functional communication across marketing and other Qualcomm departments
- Oversee event budgeting and invoicing, ensuring financial accuracy and alignment with internal guidelines
