The opportunity available at Signia by Hilton San Jose is for a Senior Event Manager, a critical leadership role within the hotel’s events and catering department. This position is designed for a passionate and experienced professional who can skillfully plan, detail, and execute exceptional group and social events. The Senior Event Manager will ensure that every event under their supervision surpasses guest expectations, maintaining the hotel’s reputation for excellence and contributing to its financial success. The role offers a competitive base salary ranging from $82,000 to $92,000, with opportunities for quarterly bonuses based on performance and achievement of business objectives.

As a Senior Event Manager, you will be the primary liaison during the event execution process, coordinating closely with sales teams, hotel departments, and clients to ensure seamless service throughout the pre-event, event, and post-event phases. You will manage complex events, ensuring smooth communication and transitions between sales and service teams to maximize guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. The role requires a proactive approach to upselling and enhancing event offerings to increase revenue, as well as excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills to handle conflicts and resolve any issues that arise. Your responsibilities will also include organizing priorities, maintaining client relationships, providing guidance and coaching to team members, and supporting the Director of Catering and Events as needed.

In addition to your operational duties, this role involves participation in customer site inspections and assisting with the sales process, providing expert input to enhance client experience.   • Minimum of 2 years of hotel event planning experience
  • Flexible scheduling is required
  • Union hotel knowledge preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Delphi FDC highly preferred
  • Ability to handle complex events
