Job Description
Signia by Hilton at La Cantera Resort and Spa is a premier luxury hotel located in San Antonio, Texas, and proudly stands as the only Hilton Corporate Managed property in the city. This stunning resort offers over 130,000 square feet of versatile meeting and event space distributed across its expansive grounds, combined with 496 elegantly appointed guest rooms. Its unique blend of upscale accommodations and exceptional conference facilities makes it a sought-after destination for both leisure travelers and corporate events alike. Guests at Signia by Hilton enjoy a sophisticated atmosphere with modern amenities, exquisite dining options, and access to a range of recreational activities, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Texas Hill Country.
The role of Senior Event Manager at Signia by Hilton La Cantera presents an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an experienced events professional eager to contribute to a dynamic team focused on delivering outstanding guest experiences. In this full-time position, the Senior Event Manager plays a critical role in the planning, coordination, and execution of a diverse array of group events, ensuring that each event is seamless, memorable, and meets the high standards expected by clients and the hotel brand alike. This role requires close collaboration with multiple hotel departments including Sales, Catering, and Operations, as well as direct engagement with clients to ensure their expectations are understood and surpassed throughout every phase of the event lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include managing complex event logistics, coordinating event documentation, and facilitating smooth communication from sales handoff to onsite execution and post-event follow-up. The Senior Event Manager must possess excellent negotiation skills, strong organizational abilities, and an aptitude for maximizing revenue opportunities through upselling and enhancing event features. This position often acts as a primary contact for clients during their event experience on property and may also support or represent the Director of Catering and Events as needed.
With a focus on providing exceptional customer service, the Senior Event Manager helps drive positive guest interactions and smooth operations by offering guidance and direction to team members, resolving conflicts, and proactively addressing challenges that may arise. Candidates should bring a minimum of two years of event planning experience specifically within a resort or hotel environment and demonstrate flexibility to accommodate the varied schedules that large group events demand. Additionally, familiarity with hotel property management systems, such as Delphi.fdc, and certifications like the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation, are highly valued and can enhance one's candidacy.
Signia by Hilton La Cantera prioritizes the wellbeing and growth of its team members by offering a comprehensive benefits package along with career development opportunities within a diverse and inclusive work environment. Candidates selected for this role will benefit not only from the satisfaction of orchestrating world-class events but also from programs supporting mental and physical health, educational advancement, and financial stability. Overall, this role is ideal for a driven and experienced event management professional looking to elevate their career within a prestigious hotel brand while working in a vibrant and engaging setting.
