Job Description
The Pennsylvania Convention Center (PCC) is a premier events venue located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Renowned for its state-of-the-art facilities and strategic location, the Convention Center hosts a wide array of events including large conventions, exhibitions, consumer shows, and meetings that attract regional, national, and international attendees. Operated in partnership with ASM Global, a global leader in venue management, PCC is dedicated to providing outstanding customer service, innovative event management solutions, and functional event spaces that meet the high standards of diverse clients.
As a key player in the hospitality and events industry, the Pennsylvania Convention Center offers a dynamic and professional working environment. It continuously fosters growth and collaboration while raising the bar for events execution and customer experience. The center not only supports the local economy but also contributes significantly to Philadelphia's reputation as a prime destination for business and leisure events.
The Senior Event Manager role at the Pennsylvania Convention Center is an essential position within the Event Services Department, reporting to the Director of Event Management. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale meetings, conventions, and consumer shows. The Senior Event Manager independently manages multiple events and their respective phases, positioning them as a vital liaison between customers and the convention center’s internal teams and external service contractors.
In this role, the Senior Event Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and hospitality while effectively overseeing logistical requirements from the initial planning stages through to the successful delivery of events. This includes supervising event managers and coordinators, managing the event production process, ensuring adherence to facility rules and safety policies, and maintaining clear communication with clients and internal departments.
Additionally, the Senior Event Manager acts as a key problem-solver by anticipating potential issues and implementing appropriate solutions. They oversee the preparation and approval of event requirements, coordinate operational set-ups, train staff, and serve as a primary or secondary liaison supporting seamless event execution. This position also demands availability outside regular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to respond to emergencies or event needs.
Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking abilities while exhibiting professionalism, creativity, and ethical standards consistent with PCC and ASM Global’s brand promise. The role requires proficiency in event management software (such as Ungerboeck EBMS) and Microsoft Office tools, ensuring efficient event booking, scheduling, and communication.
The Senior Event Manager contributes significantly to the fulfillment of ASM Global’s mission by promoting safety programs, supporting departmental initiatives, and enhancing the overall event experience for clients and guests. This role offers an exciting opportunity for experienced event professionals to work at one of the region’s most prestigious event venues, participate in diverse and complex event productions, and make a direct impact in the industry.
