Tanaq Environmental, LLC (Tanaq) is a leading environmental services firm specializing in environmental engineering, investigation, consulting, and remediation. The role of Senior Environmental Project Manager is an essential leadership position within Tanaq, designed for an experienced professional to lead and manage complex environmental projects with a focus on emerging contaminants, environmental restoration, remediation, and operations and maintenance. This position requires managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring successful delivery through effective scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical document preparation and review, team leadership, and fostering strong client relationships to ensure projects meet contractual requirements while maintaining high safety and quality standards. This is a remote role based in the United States, with approximately 15% annual travel to facilitate project execution and client engagements.

The Senior Environmental Project Manager will be instrumental in supporting business development through proposal preparation, technical quality assurance, and strategic growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will lead high-performing teams comprised of environmental and field scientists, technicians, and subject matter experts, driving project success and financial performance. Collaboration with corporate safety and quality personnel will ensure adherence to health, safety, and quality protocols, reinforcing Tanaq's commitment to operational excellence. Job Requirements

Minimum bachelor’s degree in geology, hydrology, or engineering
Minimum 10 years of project management experience
Strong technical experience with HTRW, PFAS, emerging contaminants, environmental compliance, or MMRP
Experience leading proposal/capture efforts for federal agencies
Self-driven with ability to self-manage, take direction, and lead cross-functional teams

Job Qualifications

Minimum bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrology, or Engineering from an accredited institution
Master’s degree preferred
Professional licensure (e.g., PE, PG) is preferred or the ability to obtain it within 3 years
Minimum 10 years of project management experience
Strong technical experience in hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste (HTRW), PFAS contamination, emerging contaminants, environmental compliance, or Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP)
Experience managing CERCLA or similar environmental restoration programs for federal agencies
Experience leading proposal/capture efforts for federal agencies
Strong working relationship with federal clients and agencies preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training with current 8-hour refresher preferred
OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Training preferred
USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) Training preferred

Job Duties

Lead multidisciplinary teams through all phases of environmental projects, including planning, site investigations, data evaluation, remedy selection and design, remedial action, operations and maintenance, long-term monitoring, and project closeout for CERCLA, RCRA, MMRP, PFAS, HTRW, and other environmental restoration programs
Serve as the primary client liaison, overseeing contract compliance, maintaining client relationships, managing project communications, and ensuring timely deliverables and invoices
Lead project planning and execution by managing scopes of work, schedules, budgets, resources, subcontractors, and project financial performance to ensure safe, high-quality, and profitable delivery
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project managers, scientists, geologists, engineers, and field technicians, promoting technical excellence, professional development, and high-quality project execution
Prepare, review, and provide technical quality assurance for a wide range of federal environmental restoration deliverables, including decision documents, investigation reports, remedial planning documents, conceptual site models, monitoring reports, work plans, and quality assurance plans
Contribute to proposal development, including technical approaches, work plans, scopes, cost estimating, and responses to federal and commercial solicitations
Collaborate with corporate safety and quality personnel to ensure adherence to applicable health, safety, and quality requirements
