Job Description
Liberty Mutual is a leading global insurance company that offers a wide range of products and services designed to protect people and businesses. Known for its commitment to innovation, customer service, and diversity, Liberty Mutual fosters a workplace culture that values inclusion, employee growth, and work-life balance. The company operates with the goal of creating a supportive environment where individuals from all backgrounds can thrive and contribute meaningfully to its mission of helping people live safer, more secure lives.
The USRM Servicing Technology group within Liberty Mutual is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Automation portfolio team. This role is hybrid, requiring the candidate to be present in the office two days a week and is available exclusively to U.S.-based employees. The position is flexible in terms of experience, welcoming candidates who may have less experience but the eagerness to grow and develop. The successful candidate will work in an Agile delivery team environment and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated solutions utilizing UiPath, AWS, and AI technologies.
As a Senior Software Engineer at Liberty Mutual, the primary focus will be on creating scalable back-office automation robots that seamlessly integrate with multiple systems. The role involves leveraging UiPath to build Robotic Process Automation (RPA) bots as well as innovating AI-enhanced business solutions using cutting-edge platforms such as UiPath IXP and AWS Bedrock. You'll develop defect-free source code that meets business requirements and adheres to Liberty Mutual standards, troubleshoot complex software and infrastructure issues, and collaborate closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to deeply understand and translate business needs into technical user stories.
The role also involves proactive project management, including planning work appropriately, escalating potential issues timely, and participating actively in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives. Mentoring junior developers, identifying continuous improvement opportunities, and participating in remediation efforts during incident management are key responsibilities that support the overall health and performance of the team's technological solutions. Furthermore, the role requires monitoring system performance, capacity, and cost, ensuring efficient and effective operation of deployed solutions. This position provides a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic and distributed development team that values collaboration, flexibility, and innovation.
Liberty Mutual offers a competitive compensation package with a salary range determined by various factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Employees benefit from a comprehensive suite of benefits, workplace flexibility, professional development resources, and access to multiple Employee Resource Groups. At Liberty Mutual, the focus is on creating an inclusive culture that supports every employee to do their best work and contribute to the communities the company serves. This role not only offers a chance to impact important business processes through technology but also to grow within a respected and diverse organization committed to fairness, equity, and employee well-being.
