The department plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained living and dining environment for students, faculty, and staff. Known for its commitment to high standards and operational efficiency, OU offers an engaging work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.
The role available is within the Campus Operations and Safety category, specifically focusing on service and maintenance. This position is essential to the smooth functioning of the Housing and Food Services' logistics and operations. It involves working as part of a small, dedicated team responsible for the shipping, receiving, delivery, and storage of items across multiple university-controlled spaces, including residence halls, offices, restaurants, and apartments. Employees in this role are integral in maintaining the operational flow that supports university housing and dining services.
The position requires proficient driving skills and involves the movement and adjustment of furniture within designated areas as well as transporting furniture and appliances to and from centralized warehouses. The role demands a strong commitment to flexibility, as working hours may extend to early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on business requirements. The working schedule is primarily Monday through Friday with standard fixed hours, but dedication to occasional additional hours is necessary to meet the demands of the department.
This role offers a targeted hourly salary starting at $16.00, which is commensurate with experience. The university also provides benefits eligibility, making this an attractive employment opportunity for candidates seeking a stable and rewarding job with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.
