The Senior Director of Subscription & Data Solutions role at LevelTen Energy is a critical leadership position designed for a commercial expert deeply familiar with the renewable energy Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) market. This role involves owning and shaping the strategy for the packaging, pricing, and commercialization of a comprehensive portfolio of data products and subscription offerings. As a vital bridge between commercial teams and product/engineering departments, the Senior Director is responsible for translating complex market needs into actionable product requirements while simultaneously shaping compelling commercial offerings that resonate with customers.

In this role, the candidate will develop and execute go-to-market strategies for data and analytics products, including MarketPulse and various subscription packages, ensuring these solutions remain competitively positioned and aligned with evolving buyer expectations. They will own subscription management functions such as customer migration strategies, retention optimization, and tiered packaging designs. This leadership role demands significant experience in renewable energy markets, with a proven track record in commercial sales and relationship management across energy buyers, developers, utilities, and advisors.

The ideal candidate acts as a strategic leader with a deep commercial instinct, capable of navigating cross-functional collaboration and influencing without direct authority. They will contribute to advancing LevelTen’s data monetization efforts, shaping product roadmaps, and driving revenue growth through innovative data solutions. The role is based in LevelTen’s Seattle office with a hybrid work model and offers competitive compensation in the range of $170,000 to $210,000 annually, plus an annual bonus and equity grant. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, energy, or related field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in renewable energy commerce or sales
  • Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze market trends and competitor offerings
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
  • Willingness to work in Seattle with hybrid in-office/work from home schedule

Job Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the renewable energy market with deep knowledge of PPAs and energy procurement
  • Significant commercial or sales experience managing relationships with energy buyers, developers, utilities, or advisors
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally influencing product, engineering, and sales without direct authority
  • Strong commercial instinct with expertise in pricing strategy and value-based selling
  • Excellent communication skills to translate customer needs into product requirements
  • Proven track record of proactive problem-solving and leadership
  • Prior experience in go-to-market, product marketing, or commercial strategy roles preferred
  • Experience with subscription business models including customer migration and retention optimization
  • Experience bridging commercial and product/engineering teams in a technology or SaaS company
  • Familiarity with LevelTen's platform or competitive renewable energy data and analytics products
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Own the go-to-market strategy for data and analytics products including MarketPulse and subscription packages
  • Define and evolve packaging, tiering, and pricing of subscription and data products
  • Identify and size new commercial opportunities for data monetization
  • Develop positioning, value narratives, and sales enablement materials
  • Lead subscription package updates and manage customer migration strategies
  • Collaborate to design migration paths and upgrade incentives to maximize retention
  • Monitor subscription health metrics and partner with sales and customer success teams
  • Serve as the primary liaison between commercial and product/engineering teams
  • Influence product roadmaps by integrating commercial insights
  • Partner with sales and marketing to equip teams with training and collateral
  • Leverage market knowledge to maintain competitive positioning
  • Provide input into PPA Price Index methodology and contribute market feedback
  • Track competitive offerings and advise on differentiation strategies
