Job Requirements

  • Master's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification
  • Minimum 10 to 12 years of progressive leadership experience in clinical nutrition services within academic medical centers or large healthcare systems
  • Strong background in inpatient and outpatient clinical nutrition program management
  • Deep knowledge of clinical nutrition science applicable to complex patient populations
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale organizational initiatives in an academic medical center
  • Excellent communication and executive leadership skills
  • Advanced knowledge of operational planning, finance, and business principles
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards for inpatient and outpatient nutrition services
  • Ability to participate in clinical research and foster evidence-based practice
  • Experience in workforce development, leadership coaching, and talent management

Job Qualifications

  • Master's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or related field

  • Strong background in leading inpatient and outpatient clinical nutrition programs
  • Deep knowledge of clinical nutrition science and regulatory standards
  • Demonstrated success in program development, strategic planning, and performance improvement
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership and governing bodies
  • Advanced operational planning, financial, and business acumen
  • Ability to support clinical research and academic initiatives
  • Capabilities in workforce development, leadership coaching, and management
  • Preferred advanced specialty certifications such as CNSC, RDN-AP, CDCES, or BC-ADM

Job Duties

  • Develops and executes strategic plans for clinical nutrition across multiple sites
  • Serves as senior authority on clinical nutrition standards, regulatory interpretation, and systemwide policies
  • Develops specialty nutrition programs targeting high-risk populations to reduce utilization and improve outcomes
  • Leads expansion of inpatient, outpatient, and virtual nutrition programs, including digital health and specialty care models
  • Ensures delivery of evidence-based medical nutrition therapy and standardizes clinical care pathways and documentation
  • Leads system-level initiatives to improve malnutrition identification, reduce complications and readmissions, and enhance patient experience
  • Directs research, academic integration, and teaching initiatives in collaboration with academic partners
  • Oversees multi-site clinical operations, budgets, capital planning, staffing, and productivity
  • Partners with physicians, nursing, pharmacy, analytics, and finance to evaluate program performance and growth opportunities
  • Represents clinical nutrition in executive and regional/national committees and strategic forums
  • Serves as strategic advisor to senior leaders on nutrition science, public health, and patient outcomes
  • Builds and sustains a high-performing workforce through leadership development and succession planning
  • Ensures regulatory readiness and compliance across all nutrition programs
