Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized accrediting agency
  • Two years of related dental assisting experience
  • Certified Dental Assistant credentials or associate's degree with dental experience
  • Bachelor’s degree with dental knowledge acceptable
  • CPR certification required
  • Radiological safety training required
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends for board examinations
  • Must pass background check
  • Ability to travel to off-campus locations with mileage reimbursement
  • Must adhere to infection control and safety protocols
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to handle high-volume, fast-paced dental environments

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent with two years of related experience
  • Certified Dental Assistant or associate's degree from accredited college with one year of dental experience
  • Bachelor’s degree with dental knowledge
  • CPR certified
  • Radiological safety training
  • Ability to speak Spanish in clinical settings preferred
  • Certified Dental Surgical Anesthesia Assistant or ability to obtain certification within first year
  • Minimum two years of dental assisting experience across multiple disciplines including operative, prosthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, surgery, and pediatric dentistry

Job Duties

  • Assist dental students, residents, and faculty at chair side in all dental disciplines using four-handed dentistry techniques
  • Maintain aseptic condition and stabilize tissue during surgical procedures
  • Clean, pack, and maintain instruments and equipment including surgical trays
  • Provide patient instruction in preventive dental care and answer treatment-related questions
  • Perform dental laboratory duties such as pouring and trimming molds, fabricating bleaching trays, mouth guards, splints, and night guards
  • Operate dental x-ray equipment and perform full range of dental radiography including panoramic and occlusal images
  • Serve as lead dental assistant for Moore Clinic and provide dental assisting services at off-campus locations
  • Administer infection control protocols and manage clinical safety procedures
  • Chart patient information, assist with patient appointments, and facilitate communication among staff
  • Participate in board certification exercises including ADEX and Mock boards
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned
