Job Description
FedEx Logistics, a division of FedEx Corporation, is a global leader in freight forwarding and logistics services, dedicated to helping businesses navigate the complexities of international shipping. With a robust infrastructure that spans across the globe, FedEx Logistics provides comprehensive solutions including ocean and air freight forwarding, surface transportation, customs brokerage, trade advisory services, and advanced e-commerce facilitation. This company is known for its commitment to excellence, innovation, and customer service, offering tailored logistics solutions that meet the dynamic needs of global trade in a reliable, timely, and efficient manner.
FedEx Logistics is currently seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Customs Documentation Coordinator to join their team. This hybrid full-time position (Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM) offers a salary range of $14.45 to $22.92 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. The role is based in a dynamic environment where you will collaborate with various stakeholders including customers, carriers, government agencies, and internal departments to ensure accurate and compliant processing of international shipment documentation. Paid training is provided to equip you with the necessary tools and knowledge to excel in this role.
As a Customs Documentation Coordinator, you will be responsible for the coordination and processing of documentation required by U.S. Customs and participating government agencies for high-risk and complex shipments identified by regulatory requirements and tariff classifications. Your work ensures that shipments comply with all legal and organizational policies, minimizing the risk of liquidated damages and penalties through precise classification and application of duties and preferences. A significant part of the role involves engaging directly with customers to clarify commodity classifications and providing impeccable customer service throughout the process.
The role demands a thorough knowledge of customs regulations, harmonized tariff schedules, and the ability to navigate multiple systems and resources such as databases, SOPs, tariff books, and government websites. You will be responsible for data entry, filing, reconciling entries, and maintaining meticulous records to comply with government record-keeping requirements. Your problem-solving skills and organizational abilities will be crucial as you handle a high volume of time-sensitive work independently and with minimal supervision.
Working at FedEx Logistics means being part of a respected company with a strong commitment to diversity, equal opportunity, and employment equity, including veterans and people with disabilities. The company provides excellent benefits including health, vision, and dental insurance, retirement plans, and tuition reimbursement, promoting a supportive work environment that encourages career development and lifelong learning. Employees benefit from a culture that values teamwork, respect, and customer-focused solutions in a fast-paced transportation and logistics industry.
