The Senior Custodian role at UCI Health is a vital position within the organization’s environmental services team. This position entails performing skilled and semi-skilled cleaning, housekeeping, and general maintenance duties across acute, non-acute inpatient, outpatient, and non-patient areas. The Senior Custodian is responsible for exercising care and caution when handling supplies and equipment, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment that meets the high standards expected within a leading academic health system. Key responsibilities include resilient tile and carpet maintenance, such as stripping, waxing, and carpet extraction or shampooing, tailored to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of hospital facilities. This role also supports various related housekeeping duties that contribute to the overall patient and staff experience by promoting hygienic and orderly facilities. Success in this role requires a dedication to customer service, the ability to work efficiently across multiple locations and shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, and the capacity to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
