Job Description
CACTI Park of The Palm Beaches is a premier sports and entertainment complex located in West Palm Beach, Florida. This expansive 160-acre facility is celebrated as the Spring Training and minor league player development home for the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals baseball teams. The park boasts a main stadium supported by an additional 12 full-sized and 2 half-sized baseball fields, surrounded by lush grass parking areas, scenic lakes, and meticulously maintained landscape areas. CACTI Park is more than just a baseball venue; it caters to a diverse array of activities, hosting over 100 events annually, which translate to over 200 days of vibrant community engagement. These events range from amateur baseball tournaments and non-baseball sporting events to community gatherings, corporate functions, weddings, banquets, festivals, concerts, and much more.
Within this dynamic environment, the Senior Coordinator, Operations and Events plays a vital role in ensuring each event at CACTI Park upholds the highest standards of guest experience and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Assistant General Manager (AGM) / Director of Ballpark Operations, this full-time, non-exempt position is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and smooth execution of game days and events throughout the year, especially during the Spring Training season. The coordinator will lead the hiring, training, and supervision of part-time game day operations staff and stadium operations interns, ensuring that the team is well-prepared and aligned with venue policies, safety standards, and customer service objectives. This leadership role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, including managing potential issues that arise during game days or events and ensuring timely and proper incident reporting and resolution.
Additionally, this role is critical in keeping the venue 'show ready' by collaborating with various facility departments to maintain cleanliness, security, concession operations, parking, and overall guest wayfinding. The coordinator is also involved in administrative functions such as assisting with event contracts, memos, invoices, and proformas, all aimed at enhancing the operational flow and guest satisfaction at CACTI Park. With a focus on delivering world-class experiences, the Senior Coordinator must exhibit outstanding communication skills to liaise with event organizers, vendors, and various internal teams efficiently.
This position requires a flexible work schedule, including the ability to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays to cover the extensive range of events hosted by the park. The physical demands include working in a high-activity, outdoor sports environment and may involve long periods of standing, walking, climbing stairs or ladders, and occasionally lifting items up to 25 pounds. The working environment combines office duties with highly active stadium and event settings, requiring the candidate to be adaptable, detail-oriented, and passionate about customer service and team leadership.
For professionals dedicated to exceptional event management and stadium operations, CACTI Park offers a unique opportunity to be part of a vibrant sports and entertainment venue that fosters community connections, supports athletic excellence, and delivers memorable experiences for thousands of guests each year. As an equal opportunity employer, CACTI Park emphasizes diversity and inclusion, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds to join their talented team and contribute to the ongoing success of the facility and its events.
