Job Description

We are currently hiring full-time Senior Cook positions at WakeMed Cary located at 1900 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary, NC. This role offers a full-time schedule from Monday through Friday with varying hours and includes rotating weekends and holiday shifts. The pay range for this position is between $18.00 and $20.00 per hour. Applications are accepted online only.

The Senior Cook role is vital to the preparation of nutritious and flavorful meals aligned with stringent federal, state, local, and company standards and regulations. The Senior Cook will contribute to maintaining food safety, quality, and consistency across all menu items while potentially overseeing food service associates as assigned by the Food Service Director. Responsibilities include preparing various entrees following established recipes, operating and cleaning kitchen equipment, organizing storage for dry goods and refrigerated and frozen products, and complying with HACCP guidelines to ensure food safety.

This position requires previous culinary experience and a strong commitment to food safety and quality standards. The Senior Cook will also assist in maintaining accurate production records and support the Food Service Director in completing required documentation and training cross-functional employees. Job Requirements

  • Previous culinary experience required
  • Ability to work full time including rotating weekends and holidays
  • Must comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to kitchen work
  • Must be able to follow detailed instructions and recipes
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

Job Duties
