The role of Senior Cook at Cafe Flik, located at One American Square in Indianapolis, IN, is a full-time position designed for experienced culinary professionals who thrive in fast-paced, customer-focused environments. This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm, providing a stable work routine suitable for work-life balance. As a Senior Cook, you will be responsible for preparing food that is both nutritious and flavorful while adhering to federal, state, local, and company standards. This includes from-scratch cooking and batch cooking, emphasizing high-quality production and food safety practices. You may be tasked with overseeing cooking activities of other food service associates, ensuring that all menu items meet established recipes and quality expectations. The role requires a strong understanding of kitchen operations, including equipment maintenance, cleaning responsibilities, and inventory management. Familiarity with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines is essential to maintain the safety and quality of the food supply.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar cook or food preparation role
  • Ability to perform cooking duties including batch cooking from scratch
  • Good customer service skills
  • Ability to work full-time Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 3:30 pm
  • Ability to comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations
  • Must be able to operate kitchen equipment and perform regular cleaning tasks
