Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in healthcare culinary preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and carrying
  • Open availability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to work under supervision and independently

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience in healthcare culinary preferred
  • Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards such as HACCP
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Open availability preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare various entrees and menu items following established recipes
  • Oversee cooking activities of food service associates as assigned by Food Service Director
  • Operate and clean kitchen equipment after each use
  • Perform scheduled routine cleaning
  • Store, label and date food items according to policy
  • Maintain organized storage of dry goods and refrigerated and frozen products
  • Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply
  • Comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures
  • Assist Food Service Director in maintaining accurate daily production records and complete all required documentation
  • Assist in the cross training of employees
  • Perform other duties as assigned
