The Senior Cook at Sodexo is a critical team member responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of nutritious dishes for multiple meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, as well as special and catered events. This full-time position offers a pay range of $16 to $22 per hour and requires open availability to work varying shifts, ensuring flexible coverage to meet customer needs. The Senior Cook acts as both a skilled food preparer and a positive ambassador of customer service, consistently delivering high-quality meals with a focus on minimizing food waste.
In this role, the Senior Cook will engage in complex recipe execution and large or small batch production using both classical and contemporary culinary techniques. The position also includes leadership responsibilities such as training and assigning tasks to production staff, ensuring a smooth and efficient kitchen operation. Working punctual and reliably during scheduled shifts is essential to success in this role. Job Duties
- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
- Follow complex recipes and/or product directions
- Produce small to large batch goods using advanced and full range of classical and contemporary cooking, plating and garnishing techniques
- Provide oversight over the production staff, including training and assigning tasks
- Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- Perform other duties assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
