The University of Southern Indiana is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Cook to join their food service team in partnership with Sodexo. This is a full-time position based at the university location, offering a competitive pay range of $17 to $19 per hour. The Senior Cook will primarily work morning shifts on varying days, with further schedule details provided during the interview process.

As a Senior Cook, you will be integral to delivering high-quality food service while fostering a positive dining experience for customers. Your responsibilities will include preparing and presenting a variety of nutritious hot and cold dishes for multiple meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events. You will follow complex recipes using advanced culinary techniques and oversee production activities, potentially training and assigning tasks to production staff. Attention to detail, consistency, and customer focus are essential aspects of the role.

Beyond food preparation, the Senior Cook will actively contribute to reducing food waste and promoting a safe, healthy, and team-oriented work environment. This position demands reliability, adaptability, and a passion for culinary excellence.
