The Senior Cook role at Sodexo Live, based at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, is a part-time position that offers a consistent pay rate of $18 per hour. As a Senior Cook, you will be an essential member of the culinary team responsible for preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a wide variety of hot and cold dishes. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years related cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Open availability preferred
  • Ability to follow complex cooking instructions and recipes
  • Must demonstrate punctuality and reliability
  • Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting kitchen related items
  • Commitment to food safety and hygiene standards

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
  • Follow complex recipes and product directions
  • Produce small to large batch goods using advanced and full range of classical and contemporary cooking, plating and garnishing techniques
  • Oversee the production staff, train and assign tasks
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
