Located at the Atlanta Commissary, Sodexo is currently seeking a full-time Senior Cook to join their dynamic culinary team. This role offers a competitive pay rate of $18 per hour and requires flexible availability to accommodate varying shifts and meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special or catered events. As a Senior Cook, you will play a pivotal role in preparing and presenting a diverse array of hot and cold dishes, ensuring quality and consistency in every plate served. Your responsibilities will extend beyond basic food preparation, incorporating advanced cooking techniques, recipe adherence, portion control, and plating finesse. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of four years of cooking experience
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including varying days and hours
  • Strong attention to detail and punctuality
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
  • Open availability preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Four or more years of related work experience preferred
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to follow complex recipes accurately
  • Experience with classical and contemporary cooking techniques
  • Leadership experience or ability to train and supervise staff

Job Duties

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
  • Follow complex recipes and/or product directions
  • Produce small to large batch goods using advanced and full range of classical and contemporary cooking, plating and garnishing techniques
  • Supervise production staff, train and assign tasks
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs and client requirements
