This role is based in a dynamic hotel environment specializing in hosting conferences, conventions, and a variety of events. The hotel is well-known for providing comprehensive and exemplary service to large groups, focusing on creating memorable experiences through meticulous planning and exceptional execution of events. The Convention Services Manager plays a crucial role in supporting and advancing the hotel’s sales and service efforts. This position is responsible for managing all group requirements, including coordinating room blocks, monitoring attrition, and assisting with catering and off-site events such as golf tournaments. A key aspect of the role is upselling contracted food and beverage minimums and communicating client needs effectively across all hotel departments to guarantee seamless event execution. This requires a deep understanding of the sales plan segmented by year and month, as well as the foresight to enhance the client's experience by offering themed decor, menu enhancements, and strategic space planning.
In addition to client relationship management, this role demands proactive internal communication with the Director of Catering and Convention Services and other departments to ensure all event details are aligned with expectations and operational timelines. Responsibilities include preparing accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), leading pre- and post-convention briefings, and maintaining a visible presence during critical points of the event timeline. The Convention Services Manager is also expected to participate in sales presentations, property tours, and industry events, representing the hotel professionally to meet business objectives and expand sales opportunities.
This opportunity requires a seasoned professional with at least 3 years of experience as a Senior Convention Services Manager and over 5 years of overall hotel experience in convention services.
