ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented and certified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Senior Field Technician I to join the King of Prussia team. This full-time position presents an excellent chance for candidates seeking to grow their professional development within the field services department. The Senior Field Technician role entails a variety of responsibilities centered on performing field observations, inspection, sampling, and testing of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement. Essential tasks involve executing routine field tests using industry-standard methodologies and equipment, followed by thorough data collection, calculations, and documentation to ensure project compliance and excellence.
A key aspect of this role is strong collaboration with project managers, senior technicians, contractors, and other site personnel to maintain clear communication and effectively respond to changing site conditions and additional testing requests. The Senior Field Technician also participates in project meetings and receives ongoing training in ECS methodologies, enabling them to document findings precisely in accordance with accepted engineering practices. As experience grows, ECS actively supports continuous career advancement, encouraging participation in internal and external training programs and professional certification opportunities from organizations such as ACI, ASNT, AWS, ICC, NICET, NRCA, RCI, various State DOTs, and WACEL.
The position requires candidates to have at least two years of related experience, maintain basic and advanced certifications, and adhere to safety protocols including heavy construction safety practices. Candidates should be physically capable of carrying substantial weight regularly and have a valid driver’s license with suitable transportation for job sites, with mileage reimbursed. Strong communication skills, proficiency with electronic devices, ability to read maps and interpret engineering plans, and basic knowledge of MS Office are also necessary. The pay range for this role in the King of Prussia area is $23 to $35 per hour, with final compensation dependent on location and individual qualifications. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years related experience
- Must maintain current basic and two advanced certifications
- Ability to carry 40-70 pounds multiple times per day or occasionally lift 85 pounds to waist height
- Valid driver’s license and insurance
- Must provide suitable transportation for job sites
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all applicable laws and company policies
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent understanding of construction safety practices
- Proficiency with electronic devices
- Strong math skills
- Basic knowledge of MS Office
Job Qualifications
- Two plus years of related experience
- High School diploma or GED
- Current basic level certifications plus two advanced certifications
- OSHA 10 certification is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and insurance
- Proficient in communication skills including speaking, reading, and writing
- Excellent understanding of heavy construction safety practices
- Ability to work effectively with clients, peers, and supervisors
- Proficient with electronic devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops
- Strong math skills with ability to read maps and interpret engineering and construction plans

Job Duties
- Perform observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of materials including soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement on construction sites
- Execute tasks based on project requirements under guidance of senior technicians and project managers
- Conduct routine field tests using various methodologies and equipment following industry standards and compliance
- Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspections
- Develop documentation and prepare field reports to record site observations
- Maintain daily communication with site contractors, technicians, and project managers
- Attend project meetings and provide updates on site conditions and testing needs
