Abbott is renowned for its commitment to diversity, employee wellness, and fostering an inclusive work environment. Recognized globally as one of the most admired companies by Fortune, Abbott emphasizes growth, learning, and career development, encouraging employees to be their authentic selves and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

The Senior Compliance Specialist role is based in Abbott’s Altavista, Virginia location within the Nutrition division. This division is responsible for developing and manufacturing high-quality nutrition products designed to support individuals across all life stages—from infants and children to adults. The Altavista facility is one of the company’s largest nutrition manufacturing plants, equipped with advanced technology to ensure efficient, safe production that meets global quality standards. Working at this site means being part of a close-knit team that is passionate about making a difference, nourishing families worldwide with trusted brands such as Similac®, PediaSure®, Pedialyte®, Ensure®, and Glucerna®.

As a Senior Compliance Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing Abbott's commitment to regulatory excellence and food safety. This position may include some off-shift work to support plant operations. You will lead or support external and internal audit programs to ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, and Abbott policies. Your responsibilities include driving key food safety culture initiatives, conducting PNC/NC investigations, tracking compliance metrics, and training internal auditors to uphold standards. You will act as a backup to the Compliance Manager, ensuring the plant remains in an audit-ready state and fostering continuous improvement through plant engagement.

Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related field, coupled with a minimum of two years’ experience in a compliance role or four years in quality assurance within GMP-regulated industries, you will have the expertise needed to influence critical compliance functions. Abbott values candidates who are proactive, detail-oriented, and dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. In return, the company offers competitive pay between $78,000 and $156,000 as well as a comprehensive benefit package designed to support employee health, education, financial security, and career growth.

Joining Abbott means you will be part of a global healthcare pioneer with unmatched opportunities for professional growth, access to innovative training programs, tuition reimbursement, and a rich, supportive culture that values every employee’s contributions.
