The Senior Coating Technician position at Garney is a vital role located in Enid, OK. This position involves independent accountability for all daily field tasks related to coating applications, abrasive blasting, water blasting, injection grouting, holiday and adhesion testing, and more. The Senior Coating Technician will supervise and mentor technicians and laborers, ensuring high standards in field operations without the need for direct supervision. A key responsibility is leading and coaching teams during STAC meetings, communicating effectively with foremen and superintendents to plan and execute projects efficiently. The Senior Coating Technician must possess the ability to assess operational conditions, identify and recommend suitable corrective actions, and motivate their team positively to maintain productivity and safety.

This role requires a strong technical background in high-performance coating applications, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. The candidate must be Competent Person Trained in areas such as confined space, fall protection, silica safety, and scaffolding, demonstrating full compliance with safety regulations. The job also demands proficiency in operating and maintaining pump systems and spray equipment, as well as safe vehicle operation including driving a pickup truck with a trailer attached. The Senior Coating Technician must be able to evaluate defective or damaged equipment promptly and liaise effectively in project planning meetings to ensure operational readiness and smooth execution.
