Job Description
The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts is a prestigious portfolio under Marriott International, representing over 120 properties across more than 35 countries. This brand is synonymous with authentic experiences and high-end hospitality that evoke lasting and treasured memories. Rooted in a rich history dating back to 1906 with the Italian CIGA brand, The Luxury Collection blends legendary palaces, remote retreats, and timeless modern classics to create unique hotel and resort experiences. Each property acts as a portal to the destination's cultural charms and treasures, offering guests an immersive encounter with local heritage and luxury. Marriott International itself is a global hospitality leader committed to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity. They foster a workplace where the unique backgrounds, talents, and experiences of associates are valued, and aim to provide access to opportunity for all qualified applicants. This includes consideration regardless of disability, veteran status, or other protected categories, and consistent with applicable laws. The company supports a culture where associates can do their best work, begin their purpose, belong to a global team, and become the best version of themselves.
We are currently seeking a Group/Catering Sales Manager based at 326 Broadway, San Diego, California. This is a full-time, management position with an attractive pay range of $37.02 to $48.56 per hour and eligibility for bonuses. As a Group/Catering Sales Manager, you will be responsible for proactively soliciting group and catering business, focusing on opportunities with significant revenue potential. You will handle large group segments or complex accounts, aligning customer profiles with appropriate hotel products and services. Maximizing revenue through upselling and creative selling strategies is a core part of the role. You will also ensure that business is turned over properly and timely for service delivery that meets or exceeds brand standards of excellence.

This position emphasizes strategic sales planning, market understanding—including competitor analysis and economic trends—and negotiation skills to close deals. Building and strengthening relationships with both existing and prospective clients is crucial. Activities involve sales calls, entertainment, trade shows, and community involvement to grow the customer base.
