The role of General Manager of Beverage at MGM Resorts is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing beverage operations across the assigned department. Job Requirements
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Have six plus years of prior relevant experience as a General Manager in hospitality industry, preferably in high-volume entertainment venue
- Previous experience working in a union environment preferred
- Knowledge of hospitality and beverage service standards
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in high-paced environments
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Availability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
- Six or more years of prior relevant experience as a General Manager in hospitality industry, preferably in high-volume entertainment venue
- Experience working in union environments preferred
- Previous experience in resort or casino settings preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage budgets and operational costs
- Knowledge of beverage product development and customer service excellence
Job Duties
- Oversee and lead assigned operational functions within the department consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department and the beverage division
- Oversee management, delivery, and measurement of guest service within assigned department(s) consistent with the company's core service standards and brand attributes
- Provide input into the research, development, evaluation and implementation of new products, services, technology and processes to ensure the company's competitive position
- Responsible for cost controls and necessary reporting requirements, including forecast reports, adherence to budget and profit and loss statements
- Maintain high level of motivation among employees by encouraging feedback and participation in decision-making processes
- Provide coaching and feedback to help team members develop and strengthen skills and abilities needed to accomplish work objectives
- Review ratings with social media outlets like Yelp and Trip Advisor with employees and management to develop strategy to increase positive ratings
- Schedule meetings with employees to ensure correct execution of policies and procedures
- Work with security on the implementation of the security plan and training staff to maintain a safe environment
- Direct human resources responsibilities including creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition and employee satisfaction
- Resolve escalated issues with customers and vendors with recommended customer service-related comps
- Ensure appropriate scheduling and staffing
- Manage multiple tasks in high-paced and stressful environments while remaining calm
